How Does It Work?
Join us for an immersive live listening experience, bringing storytelling to you with the best books for reading aloud. Children, teens and elders (coming soon!) can start their journey with a free session, then sign up for a monthly subscription to your weekly virtual adventures!

Who is your reader?
Hi, I’m Kari
When I was seven my favorite time of day was when my teacher, Mrs. Schack, called us to “the gathering place” (which was simply an old carpet on the floor). In this special communal space she created, she shared picture books and read tales from magical places while the entire class listened with rapt attention. We were transported in time and taken on adventures we would never have been privy to had she not dedicated a portion of our day to these incredible literary journeys. From the Maggie B. by Irene Haas to E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web, I fell in love with books and reading.
These experiences led me down the path of becoming an elementary school teacher. Once I became a parent and had a gaggle of kids of my own, we gravitated to homeschooling where libraries, books, and reading were the main part of our creative curriculum.
Now some cities are wanting to do away with libraries (therefore “storytimes”) all together. This is unbelievable to me; children and people of all ages should have access to libraries, books and storytelling.
This site was born of my love of books, reading and the desire to share good stories. I hope you will join us at the gathering place in The Reading Room!
